1914 - Bollywood - Hindi Movies History - Releases - Videos

Theater at Dhobi Talao was named after King Edward who visited India as Edward The Theater is still running.

Dadasaheb Phalke released Satyavan Savitri, his third film. Film audience and shows have increased.   Distributors required 20 prints of the film. instead of just one.  

Phalke wote "How Films are Made", and also wrote a series of essays on film making for the Marathi journal, Navyug.  
 Abdulally Essoofally acquires the Alexandri Theatre in Bombay (Mumbai) in partnership with Ardeshir Irani  Abdulally Essoofally toured all over India and showed films in touring tents during the period 1901 to 1914.
