Sunil Dutt wants to befriend his neighbour Saira Banu. She likes music and moves with her music teacher Mehmood ignoring Sunil Dutt. His friend Kishore Kumar helps his friend by singing in the background and displaying as though Sunil Dutt is only singing. There is a competition or duel between Sunil Dutt and Mehmmod and Mehmood leaves confused.
Finally Sunil Dutt and Saira Banu become friends.
