2 States - Alia Bhat to be Heroine

Alia Bhatt will play the lead in 2 States opposite Arjun Kapoor.

The movie is co-produced by both Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala. The film is based on the bestselling novel by Chetan Bhagat on the story of a Punjabi boy who falls in love with a Tamil girl and gets into a regional/culture clash. Arjun Kapoor  made his debut this year with Ishaqzaade.

Director is Abhishek Verman.  He has earlier worked as a creative director on Karan’s films: My Name Is Khan (2010) and also Student Of The Year.
